New Jersey is currently facing MAJOR laws concerning pet ownership.
NJ State Bills to Watch
The bills below were introduced in 2007 and have so far been sitting idly.
We will continue to monitor them and alert you if they come back in the 2008 session.
NJ Bills Needing Our Action:
S835 Establishes animal cruelty offenses pertaining to chaining or
other restraint of animals - Does not restrict your means of confinement, but rather enforces that it is done safely and humanely.
S1275 Concerns homeowners insurance coverage with respect to dogs
- This bill will make it so insurance companies cannot deny you insurance based on what breed of dog you have.
To keep track of these, or other STATE bills, please visit: NJ State Web Site. You can either search by above bill numbers or keywords for proposed bills.
You can find contact information for the sponsors/supporters of each bill there.
